REbalance Body Psychotherapy + Yoga
Our Approach
REbalance is an approach that integrates Body Psychotherapy and Yoga. At the heart of REbalance is, as the name indicates, a balancing out of over- and underworking parts in the body, i.e. of hyper and hypo-response, in order to be more fully present providing the foundation for connection, healing and growth. This is embedded in the understanding that we are all interdependent and that there is oneness of being.

What is REbalance Body Psychotherapy + Yoga ?
Our Methodology
In terms of methodology, a slow, deep and mindful asana practice is infused with psychotherapeutic principles, including interpersonal neurobiology and psycho-motoric approaches. The intent is to explore and uncover what is implicitly stored in the body, in particular our habitual patterns and holdings, so they can become more conscious and integrated. This provides the potential for a widening of our choices and gaining more freedom in body, mind and spirit. Compassion and Kindness REbalance welcomes and invites all parts of ourselves fostering compassion and kindness towards who we are and what is alive in the moment. REbalance recognises the importance of relationship and community in terms of evolution and meaning in our lives. |
Schools of Thought
REbalance draws from different schools of thought, in particular Body Psychotherapy, Bodynamics, Relational Trauma Therapy, Polyvagal Theory, Mindfulness and Forrest Yoga. The result is a powerfully integrated approach that works with the body, the emotions and the spirit. The emphasis is on practice and experiential learning and exploration, yet with a scientific underpinning. Two Decades of Practice REbalance has come out of two decades of practising, integrating, learning, fine tuning and experiencing. It’s fore and foremost an embodied practice vs. a purely theoretical approach. It exists in its current form thanks to many teachers, therapists, supervisors, authors and leaders. |
